Incorporate Physical Activity Where You Can
Taking a walk during lunch is a great way to incorporate extra physical activity. Try not to just eat at your desk while you are working; taking a few minutes to disconnect can be incredibly helpful in allowing you to recharge and better focus when you get back to work.
Even if you don’t have time for a full walk, look for opportunities for extra activity where you can. For example, if you’re taking a bathroom break, walk to a restroom slightly farther away to get a few extra steps in. If you’re on a conference call and don’t need to view any information, consider walking and talking.
Even on busy days, make sure to take time to stand up and stretch periodically.
Keep Healthy Snacks Handy.. And Drink Plenty of Water!
If you are working in an office, try to keep healthy snacks handy to minimize the need to pick up junk food. If you work at home, keeping healthy snacks on hand is even easier. Having a good stock of healthy snacks on hand makes it easy to choose healthier options throughout the day.
Drinking enough water is also beneficial. Invest in a good water bottle and keep it nearby throughout the day. A cute water bottle can be great motivation to drink extra water throughout the day.
