If you ask a child what a red nose brings to mind, the answer may be considered predictable. A clown, they might say. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is another likely possibility. This year, the United States is bringing new meaning to a red nose. Red Nose Day is a time to raise money and awareness for children and young people living in poverty in the U.S. and underprivileged communities around the globe. The name, as you may have guessed, is embodied by the Red Nose that is worn by millions who show their dedication to this endeavor. Who doesn’t want to be a clown for a day?
On May 21st, 2015, NBC hosted a TV special honoring the inspiring efforts that went towards the development of a world where no child lives in poverty. The netlogx team in Michigan stepped up, suited up, and joined the celebration!
The office attire on May 21st was atypical to the average day at the Michigan office. What started as a fun, goofy way to lighten the mood and recognize Red Nose Day turned into an opportunity for memorable photos and a grand fundraising effort.
Numerous netlogx employees in Lansing, Michigan sported the honorable Red Nose that day. Each Red Nose represented a $0.50 donation to a better life for children living in poverty. That was a small giving compared to what netlogx was capable of. Collectively, more than $100.00 was donated to the Children’s Health Fund. This organization will use the money gifted by netlogx staff to provide health care to some of the world’s most medically deprived children. By working with the Children’s Health Fund, netlogx established a way to support needy children everywhere while also advancing the health care system we strive to better every day.
It is a great feeling to work among these Red Nosed individuals who are passionate with what they do, recognize privilege, and take the time to lend helping hands to those who might be less fortunate.
