Junior Achievement’s Indy’s Best and Brightest by Laura Shanahan

We recently celebrated one of netlogx’ team members, Javeria Masood, at Indy’s Best and Brightest Junior Achievement gala. Being nominated as one of the Best and Brightest showcased Javeria’s hard work and dedication in starting up and organizing CoderDojo, an independent volunteer-led programming club, which helps kids in developing core coding skills.  After attending the event, and witnessing hundreds of talented individuals I began to wonder, what drives them to achieve, to climb higher and to push through barriers to deliver unparalleled service to others.  Achievement is felt individually; some call it the fulfillment of a “bucket list” item, for others it may be conquering an illness, or graduating from college. Maybe those selected achieved the best and brightest honor by collaborating with others in the community, performing above and beyond their “job duties” and creating opportunities for others to reach their full potential.  All I know is that their drive and motivation to achieve will continue to breed success for others, and I am looking forward to what these leaders will achieve in the future!  You ROCK!

As I continue to ponder the drivers of achievement, all I need to do is look in the hallway outside of the netlogx office to get a good starting point.  There is a “Things to do before I die” chalkboard, which is an anonymous place for one to write down what one wants to achieve, so I pick up a piece of chalk and start writing, take a selfie with what I want to achieve before I die, and begin to plan, execute and achieve those “Things to Do”!  It is open to anyone visiting the Stutz building, so feel free to visit the 4th floor and write down what you want to achieve, then make it happen – who knows, maybe you will be the next ones selected for Indy’s Best and Brightest!
