After ten long months of dealing with a family health issue, I found myself out of shape and weighing in at a number I had never seen on the scale. After a visit to my family doctor in June 2018, I learned about Exercise Inc. My doctor had been going for several months and told me he was the healthiest he had ever been in his life, including better eating habits.

The next month, I contacted his trainer and began meeting with her. My plan was to become stronger and healthier through lifting weights slowly for 20 minutes and adding healthy nutritional habits.

In November 2018, I set a goal to lose two pounds per week through a contest at Exercise Inc., and I achieved my goal and even won the contest. This was a huge confidence booster and catapulted me into my next health adventure.

At the same time, I began Pilates at Club Pilates Greenwood. I attended my first class and have been going at least four times a week since. I love the low impact full-body workout. I even encouraged a dear friend to join a month later. I told her, “Pilates is great. You get to lay down and exercise!” Mind over matter, right? Whatever gets you to your healthier lifestyle – use it.

As I became more comfortable with the equipment and movements and became stronger, I started exploring other classes, including Club Pilates (CP) Control, CP Cardio Sculpt, and CP Center Balance. Each of them works a different muscle and part of my body. I am delighted with the transformation of my body and mind over these past seven months, and I regularly share with anyone who listens. I recently went on a weeks’ vacation, and for the first time, I missed my Pilates regimen and looked forward to going back.

The motivation I have gained is not solely my own doing. At netlogx, we are encouraged to participate in a personal wellness program. netlogx recognizes the importance of our team member’s health and seeks to promote healthy living, friendly competition, and teamwork among the netlogx family. Our Human Resources Policy includes a Wellness Reimbursement Program that encourages us to take advantage of activities such as:

In addition, the mission of netlogx’ Wellness Committee is to offer benefits that support improved physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing in the netlogx team members and provide opportunities and resources to support a healthier lifestyle.

As I began this blog, I mentioned a family health issue. It made me realize how blessed I am to have my health. I truly appreciate the supportive programs provided by netlogx and I’m grateful to be healthy enough to participate in weightlifting and Pilates.
