Indianapolis, IN, June 21, 2013 – On June 20th, 2013, netlogx had the great pleasure of sponsoring a very well attended Indy Chamber Develop Indy networking event, where the guest of honor was Sir Peter Westmacott, British Ambassador to the United States. The theme of the event was the exceptional value of British-American alliances and how Indiana companies can continue to grow through this partnership.
The event was also attended by Robert Chatterton Dickson, British Consul General in Chicago, who opened the short series of speeches with a welcome to all and gave an overview of the tremendous trade already taking place between Indiana and the UK. He stressed the UK government’s strong desire that these ties be built on greatly over the next few years.
Audrey Taylor, Founder and Managing Partner of netlogx, then delivered a short speech of welcome to Sir Peter and the Consulate team, making special note of the wonderful support given by Colette Buscemi, Consul and Head of Trade & Investment, and her team. She reported that netlogx has had the great pleasure of working with Colette, Rob McNeill and Tim Bakke as “we proudly open up a netlogx company in the UK”. She added that she is also “excited to export our Hoosier honed skills.” She encouraged all Indiana businesses to make themselves aware of the programs being offered, concluding emphatically that “you will not be disappointed.”
Sir Peter was presented with a certificate of recognition by Deron Kintner, Deputy Mayor for Economic Development, City of Indianapolis in recognition of his first visit to the City. He then gave an excellent talk on the future of trade between the UK and the USA, especially in regards to the recently announced Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). He stressed that over half of the world’s GDP flows through this UK / US partnership and that just a small percentage increase in trade through the TTIP would be extremely beneficial to the world’s economy. His talk was very well received by the event attendees.
