netlogx is very proud to be a WBE – woman owned business -certified first in our home state of Indiana, then nationally by WBENC and finally internationally by WEConnect – if the galaxy opens up, we will of course seek “To boldly go where no WBE has gone before!”.
In all our efforts at netlogx we are seeking to empower and create a workforce that looks like the world in which we live; simply because more ideas and voices at the table result in stronger problem-solving solutions for our clients. This is the very message behind the Diverse by Design concept we hold near and dear at netlogx.
Here in the US, we start the year with a focus on diversity celebrating Black History month in February and all the accomplishments of the community but also providing a spotlight on the continued push for change in support of equality.
Since the declaration in the US Congress in 1987, March has been designated National Women’s History Month and worldwide International Women’s Day (IWD) will be observed on Thursday, March 8. Each year IWD develops a campaign theme – not for the day but to push for change over the year. In 2018 the campaign theme is #PressforProgress with a call-to-action to create real progress for gender parity. IWD is sharing active ways and ideas for uplifting and uniting friends, colleagues and whole communities to think, act and be gender inclusive. What are you going to do to act?
I have personally committed to “forge positive visibility of women”. I will accomplish this via two ways:
- Furthering my activities to share my passion and encourage young girls and women to pursue STEM careers. I will leverage Women & Hi Tech to aid me in this journey.
- Support and encourage women to become and grow as entrepreneurs. I will leverage NAWBO Indy and Start Up Ladies to support this goal.
Additionally, I will actively seek conversations to challenge girls and women to stay true to their dreams and push themselves to the next level. I will pursue and accept opportunities that are presented to me to share my STEM journey as a techie and my entrepreneurial journey on the road to proudly being the founder and CEO of netlogx.
International Women’s Day (IWD) is not country, group or organization specific. Make IWD your day! – everyday!
