Last month I had the opportunity to spend a few days at the netlogx Corporate Office. Since I completed my week of onboarding in January, I had not been back to Indianapolis. I was excited to leave cloudy and rainy Grand Rapids for a few days to visit sunny and warm Indianapolis! The trip was a wonderful opportunity to meet in person with several people I had only spoken with over chat, email, and phone. In my opinion, establishing an in-person connection is an integral part of communicating with people and working well together. In two and a half days I was able to meet and work with so many people: Nick T., Diane, Tyler, Mark, Melissa, Elizabeth, Javeria, Stephanie, Rick, Joan, and Nelson. A lot of ground was covered in a short space of time. I am so grateful to everyone who took the time to meet with me and make me feel welcome. I truly felt the kindness of all netlogx team members during this time, and especially enjoyed the company of those who spent lunch and dinner time with me.

It is always fun to visit a different city and I like that Indianapolis as a city is quite a bit bigger than Grand Rapids and much bigger than Hudsonville! However, one thing that drives me crazy about Indianapolis is all of the one-way streets. One morning I accidentally got onto I-65 because I tried to turn onto 11th street, only to find a one-way street! That was a fun morning detour. From my hotel, it was nice to be able to walk around town and check out what was nearby, such as the Monument Circle and the Indiana State Capitol building. Next time I come, I will have to try to make it to a tour of the Capitol building, if possible.

The trip was a great refresher for what it means to be part of the netlogx team. Although the days were long, they were productive. To top it off, the sun set brilliantly over the city!
