What brings you joy?
Seeing my kids and my grandkids do extraordinary things.
What would you like to learn?
I own a large flatbed laser, and I would love to learn to engrave photographs onto tiles.
Who or what inspires you?
Challenges inspire me. When people say things can’t be done, I always laugh and say, “we will figure it out.” It is always the challenge to do things that haven’t been done or use things that you have already done or experiences that you have had over your lifetime and mold them into new solutions for clients, netlogx or whatever it is.
What is your proudest work moment at netlogx?
Making the presentation to the state of Michigan after we were called in to address items from a contiguous audit that they went through. We put together the program and how to go about identifying business processes and coming up with a recommendation to satisfy the state’s audit requirements.
If you could talk to your teenage self, what would you say?
Spend more time doing what you love and want to do and less time slogging through things that you do not want to do. At the end of our careers, we end up trying to focus on what we like to do compared to what we have to do.
What is your favorite book or movie and why?
My favorite movie is Road House, I have watched it a million times and it just makes me laugh. I will watch it whenever it comes on and I like it because there are always things you miss. There are a lot of intricacies in the movie.
What would you write on the netlogx Before I Die wall?
Before I die, I want to live on a catamaran and sail the Caribbean.
What does process management mean to you?
Defining the steps and tasks necessary to complete a process from one step to the other, from a defined start to a defined stop. Identifying the tasks involved with that process, the decisions made within that process, and identifying the issues and opportunities within that process. Then, developing recommendations to satisfy those issues and opportunities.
What does wellness at netlogx mean to you?
Getting us up off our chairs. It affords us the opportunity to identify behaviors that do not work well with us and do things to change them whether it is walking, running, or riding a bike.
How would you describe netlogx’ culture?
Family. I have been here for ten (10) years, and I came and met a lot of people I did not know, and we have hired a lot of new people. You build a lot of new friendships and relationships. The goal of netlogx is to have everyone succeed so we work pretty hard to work with each other and help the new people get up to speed so they can run their own ship one day.
What is a fun fact about you? Or the most exciting thing you’ve ever done or place you’ve ever been?
I took a hot air balloon ride years ago with my son when he was young. We kind of grabbed him up at the last moment and stuffed him in the basket. We didn’t even tell him until we started to lift off, we just reached over and grabbed him, so he didn’t have time to get scared.
