I am writing this blog in the business center at the Falcone VSS Subaru dealership. I normally drive my British Racing Green Mini Cooper S – woman and car in perfect harmony – but today I’m in Nick’s car and the check engine light came on. They have a great little business center so as in most of life I am able to log on and carry on working. I’ve checked my emails and all is good. It seems that after all the changes in the last year here at netlogx it’s time for a “check engine” light at work too.
Last year we worked with Kathleen Paris to develop a strategic plan for netlogx and tacked this through 3 endeavors:
- The Executive Team completed an on-line SWOT analysis – Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats
- Executive Team Planning retreat
- Two listening sessions were conducted with all netlogx employees focusing on:
- What are new services or products or markets netlogx could focus on in the next five years?
- What do clients request that we cannot currently provide?
- What would it take for netlogx to go international?
The Strategic Plan we developed was wonderful but as we all know real life can “get in the way” of the best laid plans so in order to check our engine it is time to being Kathleen back. In addition to revisiting the great steps above I’m requesting an additional service to facilitate a vision for how the role I hold at netlogx evolves.
My idea is that Kathleen will interview me about the past year – high, lows, goals achieved, missed and even abandoned. Then after we conduct the sessions outlined above Kathleen and I will regroup to evaluate how to set my focus in the most effective manner and allowing me to fully embrace the next twelve months.
