The Medicaid program, enacted in 1965 under Title XIX of the Social Security Act (the Act), is a  grant-in-aid Medical Assistance Program financed through joint federal and state funding and administered by each state according to an approved state plan. Under this plan, a state reimburses providers of medical assistance to individuals found eligible under [...]

Top Ten Lessons Learned as a Young Professional

By |2022-09-03T16:21:47-04:00February 13th, 2014|

The transition from college student to young professional is not always smooth. Although a college education is invaluable in preparing to launch a career, four years of attending class in sweat pants does not necessarily prepare one for all aspects of joining the professional workforce. I was lucky enough to be introduced to the professional [...]

New to the Crew

By |2022-09-03T16:20:09-04:00February 6th, 2014|

Everyone has new experiences in their life.  Be it a new school, job, location, technology, or environment. We live in a changing world, and we have to change with it or be left behind.  How many rotary phones do you see? Cassette tapes? Black and White TVs?  Almost none of these things are still in [...]

Where the Magic Happens

By |2022-09-03T16:18:08-04:00January 23rd, 2014|

What does ‘magic’ possibly have to do with feedback, mentorships and stepping out of your comfort zone? Much more than one can imagine and all before lunch! The past year I have had the good fortune of attending Indy Chamber’s breakfast series, Women In Business. This ‘early bird’ program is the brainchild of Wendy Stein [...]

Drive to Survive or Drive to Succeed – What Drives You?

By |2022-09-03T16:17:27-04:00January 9th, 2014|

I was recently listening to an NPR discussion about under-performing schools in a large city and the debate of the school choice program.  Under the school choice program, parents, with children in under-performing schools, have the option to select a school which is considered to be performing at or above expected standards.  While this provides [...]

Columbia University Study

By |2022-09-03T16:14:46-04:00January 2nd, 2014|

On December 5, 2013, researchers at Columbia University’s Columbia Population Research Center (CPRC) published a paper that proves what every person working in the public assistance arena always knew: government programs aimed at decreasing poverty work.  Having worked for the state on Indiana’s welfare agency for 23 years, it is heartening to see the positive [...]

Eating your own Dog Food

By |2022-09-03T16:10:36-04:00November 21st, 2013|

A favored saying of one of the netlogx owners is “eating your own dog food”.  While the thought may sound a bit unappetizing, the meaning behind the saying speaks directly to how business is done at the company.  Project management is one of the key services offered at netlogx.  Recently, I had the opportunity to [...]

Anniversary

By |2022-09-03T16:07:44-04:00September 5th, 2013|

April 2013 marked the 15th anniversary of netlogx so it is important to take stock and look at a heart full of memories of this living, breathing organization that we are taking into the future. I recently learned that in sharing stores, we all grow – the “old ones”, be they Irish, Hawaiian or Native [...]

WOTSTW (We are Off to See the Wizard and other acronyms)

PMP’s, RACI’s and SIPOC’s, oh my!  I understand how Dorothy Gale felt in “The Wizard of Oz” movie  when she told her little dog, Toto, “I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore.”  Having been a paralegal for the majority of my career, I’m now being immersed in the language of project management.   As with many [...]
