This past Tuesday, netlogx was proud to sponsor the NAWBO Indianapolis Annual Awards Luncheon. Several team members attended both the pre-luncheon exhibit sessions, the luncheon, and keynote speaker Cindy Solomon’s presentation. Read their takeaways and thoughts in this week’s netlogx Noodles. Kristen Addison
Cindy Solomon’s infectious personality and vibrant speaking style were a welcome change to so many other speeches I have heard.  One quote she used really stuck with me. “Life is what happens between the trapeze bars.” – Helen Keller.

This quote impacted me in a personal way because I think so often I make up excuses for not putting myself out there.  I love the idea that we should just let go of our fear, and see what greatness we can accomplish.

The keynote speaker, Cindy Solomon, a fellow baby-boomer and very funny speaker talked about courage in a way that helps us understand that we all have fears, that taking positive steps to overcome those fears can lead to fulfillment of our hopes and dreams. The netlogx founder, Audrey Taylor, exemplifies courage. She started with nothing except herself, her family and a dream. Through hard work and at times blind courage and faith in her dreams, she built netlogx into a wonderful, successful company that consistently puts people and ethics first.

I felt very lucky to have been involved in such a fantastic event. Working at the netlogx exhibit booth was a great opportunity to meet other NAWBO members and share netlogx with new audiences! The keynote speaker, Cindy Solomon, was great. Her message was challenging and insightful. Be courageous!

Do we have the courage to become the leaders we can all be?
It is ironic but I’ve been grappling with this topic for a while now, so it was a great presentation for me – I’d love to get a copy of her book!
Who has these Types of Courage in your organization?

  • Blind – Risk taker – “That sounds like fun! – let’s jump in!”
  • Crisis – Instinctive – can boost performance in short term only
  • Role – In certain situations courage is displayed, but not in all.  Good training can provide courage to act in certain situations.  Encourage training and development – and courage will come out in other professional roles that we play.
  • Core – Knowing what you want to happen – This is important to you as a person – so you are courageous in attaining this.

Learn to recognize them and use them in particular situations in order to grow and learn.

What an honor to be able to represent netlogx at the NAWBO Annual Awards luncheon.  It was so inspiring to me to see that many successful young women in one place.  My favorite part of the luncheon was the visionary speaker, Cindy Solomon.  She spoke about Courage.  I loved the quote, “the arrogance of success is thinking that your good enough today will be good enough tomorrow.” At netlogx we live this motto.  We don’t hesitate to celebrate our successes but we take the time needed to train, train, and train some more.  Ms. Solomon asked, “are you taking the time to develop yourself?”  This is my New Year’s Resolution for 2013.

I found the event to be great. It is great networking opportunities for both companies and members. I enjoyed meeting new people and seeing people that I had previously met at the NAWBO events. I think that netlogx really stood out and people seemed to recognize our name. To me that is showing success in itself!

This was my fourth year to attend the NAWBO Annual Awards Luncheon. netlogx has had a booth all four years. In the past years it was staffed by no more than two team members. However, this year it was staffed by a whole host of netlogx team members. The netlogx team working our booth was a great site to see. It was team work in action! (see attached photo)
Cindy Solomon, Visionary Speaker, shared this fabulous quote, “The arrogance of success is to think that what we did yesterday is good enough for tomorrow.” -William Pollard. She is a high-energy speaker. I could have listened to her speak all afternoon!
