Project coordinators are just a single piece of the large puzzle that makes up netlogx. Just like a puzzle, if one piece is missing, it can’t be considered complete. Project coordinators assist the project manager, business analysts, and client staff.  They are responsible for a variety of tasks that keep meetings running smoothly and projects on track, such as:

  • Updating checklists
  • Maintaining accurate spreadsheets
  • Creating agendas
  • Reserving meeting locations
  • Sending meeting invites
  • Thorough note-taking
  • So much more

To accomplish these tasks efficiently, a project coordinator must be detail-oriented, meticulously organized, and able to prioritize tasks. All of these skills contribute to risk mitigation as the project coordinator acts as an extra set of eyes to review documents and catch any errors that may have been overlooked.

One of the major responsibilities of a project coordinator is to ensure that all involved follow the project timeline closely. They make sure deadlines are met, and action items are completed promptly. Without this piece of the puzzle, a project can derail quickly. If action items are not being completed that means the project isn’t progressing, leading to periods of stagnancy and eventually an unsuccessful project.

Many times, it’s the project coordinator working behind the scenes that helps bring so many of the other puzzle pieces together. Whether they are diligently scheduling, organizing, or staying late to make sure meeting minutes are ready to go for the next day, they are an integral part of any successful project.

As John Wooden once said, “It’s the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen.”

In my opinion, this quote explains the essential role of a project coordinator. It truly proves that every single person, every different role, and every unique piece of the puzzle just needs a bit of guidance to make the complete and perfect end result.
