For years, the netlogx staff at the State of Michigan has occupied office space in the Capitol Commons Center (CCC) on the 4th floor.  And for years, the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB) has been measuring the space to help accommodate all State staff that were moving into the building.

Our original contract had started with Medical Services Administration (MSA) in the CCC, however, with the merger, known as the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), came many changes.  Our work moved from MSA to the Business Integration Center (BIC).  The BIC was housed at the Grand Tower and 90% of our meetings required travel.

On April 14, 2017, communication was received informing us they had found space in the Grand Tower.  We were moving!  And the big move came quick.  We were moved and settled into our new office space by the afternoon of April 18, 2017.

All in all, our move has been seamless. However, as with any change, comes adjustment.  The Grand Tower is much different than the CCC.  To start, entry into the building is very difficult.  If you do not have a State of Michigan Badge, a State employee must grant you access into the building.  We are located on the 13th floor, not the 4th.  The elevators are all automatic.  You push your floor number and it tells you which elevator to enter in order to get off on your floor.  This in itself, is tricky.  It could take you two (2) minutes to get to your destination, or more than five (5) minutes.  New relationships are also being formed.  The future of netlogx at the State of Michigan looks bright.
